Hungry Eyes

Sorry I'm in a mad rush today but wanted to take a few snaps of this outfit while I could...
I was in a rush as I was running off to do a photo shoot for the Edinburgh Evening News where my lovely friend Lynne was styling a feature with me as the model!
She wanted me to have really heavy eye makeup for the shoot. She also wanted me to have a bold middle parting with sleek very straight hair! Usually these days I'll do anything for more volume but it was quite a nice wee change and totally transformed my look.
I don't usually wear nearly as much eye makeup as this but it was really bold and I loved it!!
Can't wait till the shoot is in the paper and ill post it here so you can all have a peek!

Anyway about the outfit! It's all from MissGuided. I really love this skirt and its gothic pattern. Also really loving high necked numbers which I really should have added a large chunky chiclet necklace but highnsight strikes again!!

My massive heels are from ASOS, I pretty much put them with any outfit as they are so comfy and totally massive! Woohoo!
Hope you've have a good day,

Tartan Treasure

I just LOVE this blazer from River Island.... I'm a little crazy for all things tartan at the mo and this little beauty was only £20 in the sale! One of the only fabby bargains I snapped up the January sales. To be honest I was a bit disappointed in the sales. Zara had some fabby stuff but it wasn't reduced by much. I often find Zara's sale is at its best a few weeks later when prices are rock bottom, but then again a lot of the items are usually in a pretty bad state by then!
Anyway my wee pork pie hat is from Topshop as is the silk dress which is one of the premium ones Topshop do. I got it in the sale for £25 as it was originally £75. It's a wee beaut of a dress as it is so flattering and has an amazing simplistic 60's style to it. I wear it a lot but as it is silk I need to make really sure I'm not a spilly sausage!
The boots are also Topshop which I pretty much live in. As I am only 5ft2 a little heel is almost always needed!
I love my big lion head medallion which was a steal from H&M as were the two rings I'm wearing.
Anyhoo please ask any questions or anything.... I'm new to this blog malarkey!

New Year, New Blog

So, I have been keen to set up a blog for about six months and kept putting it off!  But no more to that attitude! New Year always brings about new starts and for me in particular the turning of the year has been the kick up the bum I need.
This year I want to make some changes in my life (the usual, eat better, exercise more, work harder on my career) and start a blog! I really love fashion and I have what I believe to be an amazing selection of clothes, but I often lack the confidence in rocking out in some of my favourite outfits. My idea is that if I blog about them it will encourage me to be more adventurous with fashion.
I plan on aiming to blog at least three times a week, so hopefully my outfit creations with be blog worthy!

This is a pic of one of my more glam outfits. I wore it recently one evening on holiday and felt I hadn't done enough dressing up so a floor length number was just what I needed to feel extra special.
Its from Topshop last summer and is really comfortable. I teamed it up with this chunky gold cuff that I got at a market in London and popped in these fierce earrings which were a bargain from Primark!
I'm hoping with time the standard of my photos will improve to give you a clearer idea on materials etc.

Have a lovely week,

Catriona x
